So it’s been several years since I have regularly worked out, and there are things regular exercise and dieting adds to your “other stuff I have to do” for the week that I completely forgot about. First and foremost, laundry… never ending laundry.
Because I’m trying to schedule some sort of physical activity four days a week, my laundry for the week has pretty much doubled. This wouldn’t be such a pain in the ass if I still had a washer and drier, but living in a major city means that’s pretty much like wishing for a unicorn to ride to work.
The second added bulk to the week is all the added dishes. We are attempting to bring our lunch more often, so we don’t end up eating higher calorie food throughout the day or give in when people put sweets out in the afternoon, this means we constantly have dishes to do.
We are also planning out the meals for at least a week, and up to two weeks each weekend, so we have all the storage containers that need to be cleaned so they can be used for the following week’s prep.
It’s these little things that you don’t plan for that makes sticking with a new routine so hard. Or at least, that’s the way it is for me. .. being an adult is hard…
